First, what are RSS feeds? Instead of checking websites (or even individual documents on the web) for updates, let News feeds alert you automatically. Or, alert your customers!
Why use RSS? Watch this "Plain English" video and why RSS is the new direction of the web.
In the past you'd "Send them an email." The problem is that we're so overwhelmed with emails these days that often your important email isn't read. But what if your customers had a way to retrieve new information about your website as soon as it's available without having to continuously check your website for something new or check their email, and at their convenience? That's what an RSS Aggregator, such as Google Reader does, and to make it even simpler an RSS news reader may even be built right into your web browser. If you see a tab (often right next to your Favorites tab) for "Feeds", that's it. Once your customers Subscribe to your Feed (it's really a request to receive updates), then whenever they check their Feeds if you have an update, the Reader alerts them. How cool is that? No matter when or where, as soon as your customers check their Feeds, if you have new information to share, they know! It's that simple! READ this CNN article to Learn more... |
Lots of companies create websites, but I do much more, I ensure results long after the initial build. |
